Do you want to work as a chef or cooking Sweden?

Restaurant visits are increasing steadily in Sweden and there are new restaurants opening regularly around the country. The Swedish food culture is famous for its traditional dishes but is also greatly influenced by international cuisine. Furthermore, Swedish restaurants are often very conscious about locally grown food, and paying increased attention to organic produce. The ever-present Swedish nature is thereby often reflected in the menus, with careful respect to seasonality.

The demand for chefs and cooks to Swedish restaurants is extensive, so if you are looking to go abroad for your next career step– welcome to Sweden!

To be an interesting candidate, you will need to have at least two years of experience, and preferably some kind of vocational training within the field. To work well in a Swedish restaurant kitchen, you have to be able to communicate in English.Furthermore, you need to be willing to share your knowledge and be open to new influences in cooking and cuisine, as well as being a team player.You have to be prepared to take on various tasks in the kitchen. It is important that you have a genuine interest in people and service, and that you have a true passion for good food.

The working conditions are beneficial, since Swedish employers are known for their high standards when it comes to a fair, healthy and safe work environment. Wages and financial benefits are determined by collective agreements. Employers can often assist in the search for accommodation.
