Haugesund is a city in the region West of Norway. Haugesund is the regional center for 100.000 inhabitants. Even though Haugesund is not big, it has almost everything you will find in a big city. The city offers also a lot of cultural activitites as a jazz- and film festival.
When you are not working, we have a grate region for you to explore in the weekends. The area around Haugesund, Haugalandet, is called the Homeland of the Viking kings and Norway`s birthplace. A variety of experiences are waiting for you!
From Haugesund airport it takes 20 minutes to the central of Haugesund and to Haugesund hospital.
Consultant Geriatric Medicine
Geriatric department at Haugesund hospital is organized as a unit of its own within the medical clinic. It is a small ward consisting of 8 beds and outpatient service. The unit is approved as a group ll physician educational training in geriatric medicine.
We are now looking for a consultant in Geriatric Medicine. The post is full time.
To operate and further develop the unit in cooperation with the head geriatric physician in the unit.
We cooperate with surrounding communities when it comes to different geriatric services, e.g. interdisciplinary discussions, ambulatory geriatric service etc.

Norwegian authorization as a physician with specialization in internal medicine and geriatric medicine.
Relevant hospital experience.
Good language skills, minimum B2 Norwegian. For the right candidate, language course can be arranged.
Applicants at the end of their specialization in geriatrics can also be considered.
