Business Subsidy Programme aimed at hiring 600 unemployed people aged 18+ in the Regional Unit of Evros

 

OBJECTIVE

The programme is aimed at creating 600 new full-time jobs for unemployed people aged 18+ in the Regional Unit of Evros.

ELIGIBLE BUSINESSES

Private businesses operating in the Regional Unit of Evros.

BENEFICIARIES

Unemployed persons aged 18+ who are registered in DYPA’s Digital Register in the Regional Unit of Evros.

STATE AID STATUS

a) If the business opts for the de minimis state aid status, it should not have reduced its staff over the month prior to its application, nor should it have received state aid funding exceeding €300,000 over the past three (3) years.

b) If the business opts for the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) state aid status, it should not have reduced its staff over the 12 months prior to its application, nor should it have received state aid funding exceeding €5,500,000 since 2014.

It is to be noted that GBER state aid beneficiaries belong to one of the following two categories:

Disadvantaged persons:

• unemployed people not in regular remunerated employment over the last six months prior to their job referral, or

• unemployed people aged 18-24, or

• unemployed people who have completed  compulsory education, yet not secondary education or any vocational training course, or

• unemployed people aged 50+.

 

Severely disadvantaged people:

• unemployed people not in regular remunerated employment over the 24 months prior to their job referral, or

• unemployed people not in regular remunerated employment over the past 12 months and belonging to one of the categories of "disadvantaged persons".

DURATION

a) If the business opts for the de minimis state aid status, the subsidy duration is 12 months, which can be extended for a further 6-month period.

b) If the business opts for the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) state aid status, the duration of the subsidy for hiring disadvantaged unemployed persons is 12 months, while the subsidy duration for hiring severely disadvantaged unemployed persons is 12 months, which can be extended for a further 6-month period.

It is to be noted that, in the case of tourist/ seasonal businesses, the subsidy duration is – at least – 5 months regardless of the aid status.

SUBSIDY AMOUNT

a) If the business opts for the de minimis state aid status, the subsidy amounts to a maximum of €1,275.00 per month.

b) If the business opts for the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) state aid status, the subsidy amounts to 50% of the wage and non-wage costs, and shall not exceed the maximum of €1,275.00 per month.

The subsidy includes Christmas, Easter and holiday bonuses.

PROCEDURE

  • Businesses can apply online in the Public Administration Single Digital Portal (gov.gr):

  • Businesses select the state aid status they are interested in.
  • Businesses specify the number of vacancies, occupations, and required qualifications.
  • DYPA confirms that the applying business meets the conditions of the programme.
  • DYPA's employment counsellors refer job candidates to the business in accordance with the qualifications required for the vacancy.
  • The business selects and hires the most suitable unemployed candidate.
