Business subsidy programme aimed at Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) private businesses for the traineeship of students from technological educational institutes (ATEI) & the Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPAITE)

Objective

The Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA) offers incentives to businesses, SSE bodies and private sector employers in general, commercial banks active in Greece and institutions, organisations or services which do not belong to the Greek State based on the Services and Institutions Register of Greek Administration as applicable to accept students for traineeship so that they are facilitated in their pursue of obtaining their degree.

Potential beneficiaries as described above will contact the Local DYPA Offices, KPA2, responsible for the business or the branch of the business and where the student will carry out his/ her traineeship. The supporting documents must be originals and must be submitted up to six (6) months after the end of the traineeship.

Supporting documents

The supporting documents that potential beneficiaries have to submit to the Local DYPA Office, KPA2, responsible for the business or the branch of the business and where the student will carry out his/ her traineeship in order to receive the subsidy (after the relevant administrative check) are the following:

Education certificate by the ATEI or ASPAITE - stating that the student is at the end of the theoretical part of his/ her studies and meets the conditions to carry out the six-month traineeship to obtain his/ her degree. The above-mentioned certificate can be submitted by the business-beneficiary to the competent KPA2 in the form of a clear photocopy, fax or electronic scan.

Special contract signed by all three parts (ATEI or ASPAITE - EMPLOYER - STUDENT), granted by the ATEI or ASPAITE. This Special Contract can be submitted by the business-beneficiary to the responsible KPA2 in the form of a clear photocopy, fax or electronic scan.

Employer's Solemn Declaration for the traineeship of the ATEI or ASPAITEstudents (submitted in two copies) which is granted by the responsible DYPA KPA2 and is completed with the beneficiaries' data (businesses etc) and the student's (upon completion of the traineeship).

Individual Social Security Record of the student/ trainee and copies of payment receipts or certificate of finalised insurance contributions or A.P.D. (Analytical Periodical Statement) for the traineeship semester along with the receipt of submission to e-EFKA (former IKA-ETAM). The employer is obliged to insure the trainee against the danger of occupational risk in the 12th insurance class for 1% under the 210 insurance coverage package of e-EFKA (former IKA - ETAM).

Private Limited Liability Companies (EPE or IKE) & PCL submit a recent copy of the OGG regarding their representation and duration. General partnerships (Ο.Ε.) submit a photocopy of the company statute. Furthermore, PCLs submit a photocopy of the company statute and a Board of Directors decision for the appointment of their legal representative.

IBAN copy (bank account) for the business so that DYPA can transfer the subsidy amount and a Solemn Declaration that the business has granted the trainee his/ her fee.

Receipts of payment for each trainee-student for the required time period under article 52, Law. 4611/2019 (Α’ 73).

Subsidy amount

Businesses or employers are obliged to pay the trainee each month 80% of the minimum, statutory daily wage of the unskilled worker in force at any given time. Then beneficiaries (businesses) receive a subsidy of 50% of the total amount they paid from DYPA.

It is noted that since 1.5.2022 under the no. 38866/2022 Ministerial Decision (OGG 2030/Β/21-04-2022) Determination of the statutory minimum wage and minimum daily wage for clerks and workers in Greece", the new statutory minimum daily wage amounts to 31.85 euros regardless of age.


MINIMUM DAY WAGE (BLUE-COLLAR WORKER): 31,85 Euros

MINIMUM MONTHLY WAGE (WHITE-COLLAR WORKER): 713,00 Euros

31,85x80%=25,48 Euros

25,48x50%=12.74 Euros

CONSEQUENTLY, THE ABOVE AMOUNTS WILL BE IN FORCE FOR TRAINEESHIPS AND STUDENT LEAVE SINCE 1/5/2022

It is noted that since 1.4.2023 under the no. 31986/2023 Ministerial Decision (OGG 2003/Β/28-03-2023) Determination of the statutory minimum wage and minimum daily wage for clerks and workers in Greece", the new statutory minimum daily wage amounts to 34.84 euros regardless of age.

MINIMUM DAILY WAGE (BLUE-COLLAR WORKER): 34,84 Euros

MINIMUM MONTHLY WAGE (WHITE-COLLAR WORKER): 780,00 Euros

34,84x80%=27,87 Euros

27,87x50%=13.94 Euros

CONSEQUENTLY, THE ABOVE AMOUNTS WILL BE IN FORCE FOR TRAINEESHIPS AND STUDENT LEAVE SINCE 1/4/2023

Exemptions to the subsidy

Private sector businesses or employers, Banks and Bodies, Organisations which have already accepted trainees receiving a subsidy from any other National or EU co-funded programme.

Private sector businesses or employers, etc for trainees who have been re-employed to the same entity during the past twelve months.

Bodies and Organisations which are Public according to the Services & Institutions Register of the Greek Administration cannot participate in this programme. In case of students carrying out their traineeship in Public Services, they receive the amount of 176,08 Euros from each institution's budget and DYPA does not pay any other compensation.
