DYPAdvisors and Awards for Innovative Businesses at the "DYPA Business Partners Awards 2024" – DYPA strengthens its network of partnerships with the business community aiming at identifying and meeting labour market needs
The second "DYPA Business Partners Awards" event was held yesterday, November 11, 2024, at the Zappeion Hall, Athens, in the presence of the Minister of Labour and Social Security Niki Kerameos, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security Kostas Karagounis, Regional Vice Governor of Attica for Entrepreneurship & European Planning of the Region of Attica and President of CSR Hellas Alexandra Palli, DYPA Governor Spiros Protopsaltis, as well as DYPA staff and representatives of businesses currently collaborating with DYPA.
During the event, DYPA Governor Spiros Protopsaltis announced a new initiative aimed at strengthening DYPA's collaboration with businesses: the establishment of "DYPAdvisors", a new advisory team consisting of 15 experienced executives from reputable businesses, who will take on an active advisory role for DYPA’s Service Unit for Medium and Large Enterprises (MEMME).
The DYPAdvisors team will play a key role in promptly and effectively informing DYPA about the economy’s skills needs, thus enabling MEMME to design and implement relevant measures and activities, and offer targeted recruitment services to fill the job vacancies available.
The importance of strengthening DYPA's relations with the business community to achieve better job matching results was also highlighted in a panel discussion, which included Minister Niki Kerameos, Regional Vice Governor Alexandra Palli, Space Hellas & Singular Logic CEO Dr. Ioannis Mertzanis, DYPA Governor Spiros Protopsaltis, as well as Dimitra Tsekoura and Manolis Logothetis, two former jobseekers who found jobs through DYPA's "Career Days".
The following businesses were awarded during the event:
- AVAX GROUP received the "Best Match Award" for hiring persons with disabilities (PWDs) through DYPA Career Days in Athens.
- IASO Group received the "Most Loyal Award" for its consistent participation in DYPA Career Days and hiring jobseekers in Athens and Larissa.
- AGRINO received the "Hiring Record Award" for participating in all of DYPA’s Career Days and hiring 70 jobseekers through DYPA programmes.
While accepting the awards, AVAX GROUP's Chief HR Officer Katerina Mantzourou, IASO Group’s HR Director Sotiris Hatoupis, and AGRINO’s Vice President Vicky Pistiola praised DYPA's new services for businesses over the past few years. They also highlighted the new opportunities these services provide to businesses that choose to collaborate with DYPA, as well as the overall importance of DYPA’s initiatives, not least "Career Days," focusing on the valuable support they receive from MEMME officers in finding suitable staff.
Labour and Social Security Minister Niki Kerameos stated: "I am delighted to participate in DYPA's Second Business Partners Awards event, for businesses that have significantly contributed to strengthening the labour market through DYPA’s Career Days events and other measures. At the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, we have taken significant measures to reduce unemployment, which consistently remains below 10%, and expand the workforce, producing tangible results. However, businesses have a central role to play in this process: the State subsidizes and businesses hire. Indeed, this direct interaction constitutes a necessary condition in the labour market: the public and private sectors advance together in a mutually beneficial manner, as more and better-paying jobs bring growth and progress at the individual, social, economic but also general level. Congratulations to DYPA and its partnering businesses."
DYPA Governor Spiros Protopsaltis said: "The successful organization of the DYPA Business Partners Awards event was a challenge for all of us at DYPA but also a significant confirmation of the successful DYPArtnerships strategy we launched last year. Led by our vision and determination, we are strengthening our relations with the business community, expanding our network of partnerships and offering even more and even greater employment opportunities. In this way, we secure a general framework that enhances citizens' access to quality and stable jobs corresponding to their skills and aspirations. Outreach and innovation remain fundamental pillars of our strategy. Through the establishment of DYPArtnerships and the recent addition of DYPAdvisors, the Service Unit for Medium and Large Enterprises (MEMME) has gained new allies, enhancing DYPA’s services for businesses and continually seeking best practices in terms of matching. The DYPA Business Partners Awards are not just an award institution: they constitute a tangible proof of our commitment to innovation in HR services, strengthening our role as a reliable partner for businesses seeking the best talent, but also as a steadfast ally for citizens seeking stable and reliable career prospects."
