“Skills for you” event

A celebratory event for the completion of the “Cook Assistant” vocational training programme (duration: 250 hours) was held in Elassona on Tuesday 11 July 2023. The programme was implemented by the Larissa DYPA KEK within the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding between DYPA and the Municipal Authority of Elassona.

The event was focused on awarding training certificates, in the presence of Elassona’s Mayor, Nikolaos Gatsas, and Education and Lifelong Learning Deputy Mayor, Constantinos Paschopoulos. Clearly, it was also a socially-oriented event, since the main participants, who had the chance to taste the rich variety of dishes prepared by the trainees, were the members of the Elassona KAPI (Open Care Center for the Elderly), representing the elderly of the area, who are still active and consistently taking care of quality of life and dietary habits.

It is to be noted that the technical and soft skills acquired by the trainees led them to creating their work profile, determining smart goals and an action plan, thanks to the key contribution of the Larissa DYPA KEK teachers.

The work accomplished was, indeed, a very creative one, with a very positive and moving impact on the local society. Finally, local citizens remarked that DYPA effectively responds to the needs of the local labour market thanks to the vocational training provided by the DYPA KEK.
