Vocational Training Center of the Greek Public Employment Service- Vocational Training Centers

The duration of study in the training programs of the Greek Public Employment Service's VTCs depends on the educational subject. Usually, it ranges from 25 to 295 hours of theoretical and laboratory courses. The necessary supporting documents as well as the method of selection of the candidates are mentioned in a relevant Invitation issued by the Vocational Training Department and posted on the Service's website.

The recruitment of teachers who teach in the training programs of the Greek Public Employment Service's VTCs is made after the publication of a relevant notice to meet the educational needs.

Applications of candidates are submitted along with their supporting documents according to the notice, and evaluation tables of the candidates are drawn up according to the ordinal number of points.

The evaluation of the hourly wages of teachers is based on no. 191300/4-07-1996 (GREEK Government Gazette 576/Β/16-07-1996) decision of the Minister of Labour & Social Security on the determination of criteria for the selection of hourly teaching staff of the Greek Public Employment Service. 

The hourly remuneration is determined by the provisions of Law 4354/2015 "Management of non-performing loans, wage arrangements and other urgent provisions for the implementation of the agreement on budgetary objectives and structural reforms" (Greek Government Gazette 176/Α/16-12-2015).

The teaching staff of the VTCs works on an hourly wage, with a fixed-term employment contract (Article 3 par.2 and 3 of Law 2336/95 and Article 16 of Law 2643/98).
