DYPA Apprenticeship Vocational Schools hold an “Open Day” event in Thessaloniki on Sunday and Monday
The Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA) is organizing the 8th “Open Day – Get to Know the DYPA Schools" event on Sunday, September 8th, and Monday, September 9th, at Aristotelous Square in Thessaloniki, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
During the festive two-day event which will take place in the heart of the city, teaching staff, students and graduates of the Apprenticeship Vocational Schools (EPAS), the Experimental Apprenticeship Vocational Schools (PEPAS) and the Higher Vocational Training Schools (SAEK), as well as DYPA executives will welcome visitors and will inform them about the free studies DYPA offers in high demand fields of study/ specialties in the labour market.
As we go through the enrolment period, the "Open Day" event is a great opportunity for young persons, their parents and business representatives to learn about the dual VET system implemented in the EPAS and the PEPAS Schools as well as the initial vocational training offered by the SAEKs.
It is a VET pathway which is a priority option for young persons in many European countries, because it ensures training in sought-after technical professions, learning in the work place in actual work conditions (on the job training) and rapid professional placement in good jobs. Almost 8 in 10 EPAS graduates remain employed 12 months after graduation and 45% of them find a job within 2-6 months after graduation.
For the upcoming school year, EPASs Schools will offer 37 fields of study/ specialties, PEPAS Schools offer 3 fields of study/ specialties in the tourism-hospitality sector while SAEKs offer 41 fields of study/ specialties in occupational categories such as Applied Arts, Information Technology and New Technologies, Health and Welfare, etc.
You can find all the necessary information on the allowances, the fields of study/ specialties and the enrolment in DYPA's Apprenticeship Vocational Schools (EPAS), the Experimental Apprenticeship Vocational Schools (PEPAS) and Higher Vocational Training Schools (SAEK) in the Schools' new website:
