Record number of applications for DYPA’s 27 Day Nurseries

A total of 4,146 applications were submitted for the (re-)enrolment of infants and toddlers in DYPA’s 27 Day Nurseries for the 2024-2025 school year, a record number, marking a 14% increase as compared to last year.

DYPA’s Day Nurseries operate from September 1 to July 31, from 06:45 to 16:00 (Monday-Friday), and cater to infants and toddlers aged 6 months to 4 years. A daily programme of creative activities is implemented to promote the children’s harmonious psychosomatic and educational development.

In Attica, there are DYPA Day Nurseries in the municipalities of Acharnes, Agia Varvara, Ano Liosia, Elefsina, Keratsini, Moschato, Olympic Village, Peristeri, and Haidari. In the rest of Greece, DYPA Day Nurseries operate in the cities of Agrinio, Arta, Drama, Igoumenitsa, Ioannina, Kavala, Kalamata, Karditsa, Karpenisi, Komotini, Larissa, Messolonghi, Naoussa, Xanthi, Patras, Pylea (Thessaloniki), Serres, and Trikala.

Care is provided free of charge at DYPA’s Day Nurseries, which will cater to 1,492 infants and toddlers this year. Selection criteria are both economic and social. Over the next period, provisional lists of selected, alternate, and excluded infants and toddlers will be published, and beneficiaries will be able to submit their appeals.

DYPA participates in the action "Promotion and support of children for preschool education integration, and access of school-aged children, adolescents, and persons with disabilities to creative activity services", whose Beneficiary Agency is the Hellenic Society for Local Development and Local Government (EETAA SA). The action is co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and national resources under the Partnership Agreement for the Development Framework 2021-2027.

Parents who meet the programme conditions are invited to submit the relevant application. Those who receive the voucher may subsequently submit it at DYPA’s Day Nurseries.
