About the position:

We are looking for a driven and committed Resource Geologist who wants to contribute to a sustainable mining operation in Pajala. As a Resource Geologist, you are part of the mine planning department that is responsible for both short and long-term mining planning, surveying, geology and grade control and will report into the Mine Planning Manager.

The work you will conduct will be in an environment of constant change placing a high demand on safety and safety awareness.

Tasks:

As a Resource Geologist, you will be responsible for the development and updating of block models for our various iron ore deposits. The job assumes that you are well versed and have had previous experience in working with block models, databases, geostatistics, etc. and can independently run projects around this.

An important part of the job will be to support, involve and educate younger geologists, which is why an outgoing attitude and willingness to collaborate with others is highly valued. In your role, you will have the opportunity to help shape routines and working methods as we build our young organisation. You will also work in close cooperation with the exploration department and be involved in the development of their projects.

Your tasks will also include the follow-up of mined and processed ore in the mine (reconciliation).

Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for a university graduate in geology as well as practical and theoretical knowledge in ore

modelling/resource calculation.

You should have at least five (5) years of relevant experience in exploration and/or mining operations. It is advantageous if you have previously worked with iron ore.

The reporting of our Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves intends to comply with the Pan-European Standard for reporting of Exploration results, Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves (The PERC Reporting standard 2017) which is why sound knowledge about PERC or another CRIRSCO-based reporting standard is required.

Having the ability to manage software such as Leapfrog, Surpac, Vulcan or Datamine is a requirement.

English and/or Swedish is a requirement and Finnish is a merit.

A valid Code B drivers licence is also a requirement.

Contractual Terms:

Full-time, permanent position.

Salary:

The salary is individually negotiated, however leave and other social benefit elements of your contract are structured according to the local, collective Swedish Civil Service Agreement with the white-collar union namely Unionen, Ledarna and The Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers.

You should expect a salary of SEK 45,000 and upwards.
