The European Year of Skills in the Tourism Career Day
DYPA adopts the goals set by the European Commission for the European Year of Skills. Given its mission, DYPA contributes to the upskilling of the labour force and the technical vocational education and training. At the same time, it also helps highlight the key role continuing vocational training and lifelong learning holds for all EU countries.
The "Tourism Career Day " event offers the opportunity to hundreds of businesses in the tourism and other similar sectors to conduct on the spot, early job interviews and to collect thousands of CVs to cover their increased needs in labour force.
At the same time jobseekers can meet business representatives without a prior appointment, to discover which job posts and skills are high in the priority search list of businesses in the tourism sector.
During the DYPA "Tourism Career Day " in the Peace and Friendship Stadium (30 March 2024), a specially designed booth helped emphasise the significance of the European Year of Skills. Visitors also communicated with apprentices and teaching staff from the Experimental Apprenticeship Vocational School (PEPAS).
These interventions help the public learn about the European Year of Skills goals, discover the details of the apprenticeship curricula and look into the potential career paths after graduation.
By cultivating a culture of learning and exploring the DYPA "Tourism Career Day " event is an information hub for all those aspiring to start their career in the Tourism industry.
