Pre-work programme for 200 young unemployed people aged 18-30

in the Regional Unit of Evros

OBJECTIVE

The programme aims to prepare 200 unemployed people from the Regional Unit of Evros for labour market integration by providing them with work experience in businesses of the social sector and in actions related to the protection of the environment in the Evros region, which has been affected by the impact of climate change.

More specifically, the programme has two objectives: a) to enhance the employability of young people through work experience opportunities; and b) to achieve the social goal of Civil Non-Profit Companies (CNPCs) and NGOs through public benefit actions aimed at protecting the environment.

ELIGIBLE BUSINESSES

The programme is addressed to Civil Non-Profit Companies (CNPCs) and voluntary Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) that: (i) have received the Special Certification for Non-Profit Private Social Care Service Providers from the National Centre of Social Solidarity (EKKA) of the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs (https://www.ekka.org.gr/index.php/el/me-endiaferei-i-pistopoiisi); (ii) operate in areas under the jurisdiction of the Regional Unit of Evros; and (iii) are going to implement actions aimed at protecting the environment in the Evros region, which has been affected by the impact of climate change and natural disasters.

A CNPC/NGO may participate in the programme provided that it has not reduced its staff over the one-month period prior to its online application through DYPA’s e-services.

BENEFICIARIES

Unemployed people aged 18-30 and registered with DYPA in the Regional Unit of Evros, who have at least completed compulsory education.

DURATION AND REMUNERATION

Pre-work lasts 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, between Monday and Saturday, for a period of 7 months. DYPA will pay beneficiaries a monthly remuneration equal to the legal minimum wage. Furthermore, participants will receive a proportion of the Easter, Christmas and holiday bonuses. Beneficiaries will have full healthcare coverage through e-EFKA insurance.
